OK, OK, I’m sure I’m going to get some flack for posting while on my honeymoon, but Doug is on his iPad and we’re waiting for our dinner, so I figure it’s ok
I’ll try be brief, which we know is not my strong suit.
Monday – while wearing a 40# weighted vest [stairs (2 min), elevated plank (1:30), wall sit (45 sec)] x 2; still wearing the vest [fan bike (1 min), ropes (1 min), plank (1 min), modified push-ups (15)] x 2, no vest [200m row, lateral raises w/ 5# hw (18, 15, 12,)] x 3
Tuesday – rest day/15 push-ups
Wednesday- 2x1200m, 4x800m w/ 2 min RI, 4.15 miles. 4 mile bike ride. Get on plane to head to Hawaii (this was a major adventure which added a sprint across the Vegas airport to catch our connecting flight to my “training” that day)
Thursday – check into AULANI (review post to follow upon my return). 45 minute elliptical (anyone else wish their mile pace on the elliptical was their running pace?). 15 push-ups.
Friday – 2.5 mile run with Doug. 17 push-ups. This was our scenery during the run…
Saturday – 20 push-ups. [chest press w/ 12# hw (12), butterflys w/10# hw (12), shoulder press w/ 10# hw (12), back row w/ 10# hw (12), bicep curls w/ 10# hw (12), skull crushers w/ 5# hw (12)] x2; [ tricep extensions w/ 5# hw w/ heel touch crunches (12), Russian twists w/ 8kg (12)] x 2
Sunday – 5K with Doug. 20 push-ups.
Bad news, no long run (again), not that crazy about the gym weights so my workouts were a little off, had to leave the AULANI. Good news, I’m definitely doing well with the Galloway method. Doug usually has to slow down for me, but when I did the Galloway with him, I was ahead of him pretty much every run interval, He even commented about how much better my running was that way. I’m still not 100% confident in my ability to complete Dumbo, but I am feeling better about it doing the Galloway method.
And on that note, this was my view sitting by the pool for 4 days…plus side of jetlag? Wake up waaaay too early and get the good pool chairs!
